Fast growing company with multiple locations (and adding) is looking to create a new position of Director of Accounting.
Department: Finance/Accounting
Hybrid - Central Phoenix
Responsibilities:
• Supervise all lease accounting activities, ensuring adherence to ASC 842.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, covering new construction, additions, depreciation, and disposals.
• Direct the month-end close process to ensure timely and precise financial reporting.
• Establish and maintain internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a seamless audit process.
• Lead and mentor a team of hybrid accountants, providing guidance, training, and support for their professional growth and the successful execution of accounting tasks.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Real Estate, Construction, Facilities) on financial matters.
• Stay current on accounting standards and regulations, including ASC 842 and GAAP.
Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of lease accounting (ASC 842) and fixed asset accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred (minimum of 3 years of experience required).
• 6+ years of experience
• At least 3 years of experience in a top-tier public accounting firm (preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience leading a team of accounting professionals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle Fusion preferred).
