About the Opportunity
Envy Consulting Group is conducting a confidential search for a Director of Finance to join a respected and expanding operator in the senior living sector. Based in Toronto, this hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to drive financial excellence while supporting a meaningful mission of care and community.
This position will lead a team of five finance professionals and play a key role in bridging financial strategy with day-to-day operations across a portfolio of retirement communities. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong analytical acumen and a passion for team development and operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and empower a team of five, cultivating a collaborative, high-performance culture grounded in accountability and growth.
Partner with operations leaders to connect financial outcomes with resident care priorities and operational objectives.
Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting across a multi-site portfolio.
Design and implement dashboards, KPIs, and financial tools that improve visibility and support data-informed decisions.
Monitor key drivers such as occupancy, labour efficiency, and cost control to support operational and financial success.
Drive continuous improvement in reporting, processes, and cross-functional alignment.
Support capital planning, acquisition integration, and other strategic financial initiatives.
Provide clear, insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.
Qualifications
CPA designation required; MBA or advanced degree is an asset.
8+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in dynamic, service-driven environments.
Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or other multi-site industries strongly preferred.
Proficient in financial software and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Adaptive Insights).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
