Experience, Education and Certifications Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
Five (5) years’ experience in a senior HR leadership role
PHR or SHRM-CP
Excellent human relations and communications skills, both written and verbal
Capable of maintaining confidentiality and have high ethical standards
Able to work under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a high-energy environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to delegate tasks as needed
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and provide excellent customer service
Demonstrates competencies of leadership skills – planning, coordinating, directing, listening and communication
Ability to work under strict deadlines and has the capability to utilize problem-solving skills
Must be detail oriented
Must possess personal computer skills and be proficient in Office 365 products including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed or directed
Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Ability to drive occasionally as needed
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license
May travel to conferences and other office sites
Responsibilities
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the human resources function across the organization
This includes developing and implementing HR strategies, managing recruitment and staffing, employee relations, performance management, leave management, and compensation while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations
The HR Director works closely with senior leadership to support the organizational goals through effective people management
Partners with business leaders to develop and align HR strategy to address needs as well as assist with departmental needs
Develops and maintains a human resource management system that meets information needs for employees and management
Develops reporting to senior management as required
Consults with legal counsel as appropriate or as directed by the CEO or the Senior Vice-President of Corporate Services
Manages departmental budget and assists with personnel forecast to project employment needs
Oversees recruiting, interviewing and selecting of employees to fill vacant or new positions
Monitors employee separation notices, related documentation, exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations and overall company turnover rate
Represents the company at personnel related hearings and investigations
Maintains records of hired employee characteristics for governmental reporting purposes
Ensures completion of governmental required reports and documentation necessary to successfully complete reporting requirements
Develops and revises company policies and Employee Handbook
Communicates policy and procedure changes to management
Maintains wage & salary plan to ensure competitive wage rate in the current labor market by conducting annual compensation reviews through outside vendors
Manages employee evaluation and rate increase process
Administers the cooperative’s drug and ******* testing program and maintains all records and reports related to the program
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization compliance
Conducts training classes for employees regarding HR topics
Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor
Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support
