Responsibilities
Amalgamated Bank seeks a Director of Small Business Banking to optimize revenue generation through mission aligned portfolios, partnerships and values across verticals, including Small Business, Purchase Portfolios and developing Partner Relationships utilizing the bank’s platform
The Director of Small Business Banking is responsible for the design and execution of an efficient delivery model for these verticals through multiple channels including a direct Small Business sales team, the retail footprint, and partner networks
This leader is responsible for the development and retention of profitable Small Business relationships with a focus on revenues $1-$10MM, delivering extraordinary client experiences, and supporting the goals and activity around extensive cross-selling to deepen customer relationships
This position oversees performance management and coaching needs of a direct sales team, cross-functional relationships across the bank, including retail and branch channels as well as extensive collaboration with technology partners across the bank’s IT platform to ensure performance goals are met or exceeded
Management for design, execution, and growth of the Bank’s small business portfolio
Drives revenue and achieves goals assigned to the Small Business Division related to customer acquisition, client retention, cross-selling, and customer experience
Achieves goals for the division by ensuring team members achieve individual goals
Oversees a digital lending platform for Small Business lending up to $500M
Designs and manages a process for Small Business client management within the branch and online platforms to drive the acquisition of Small Business relationships
Lead a team taking on an ambitious agenda to build a holistic set of valuation models/tools (lending, deposits, treasury management, cost allocation) and use cases to enable relationship-level insights for Small Business customers
Develop and execute business strategies to increase productivity and revenue growth
Develop and distribute monthly activity reports for management, and identify successful sales activities, sales trends, top producers, referral reporting, and special account information or issues to identify ongoing sales opportunities
Other duties as assigned by the EVP, Commercial Banking
This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, the contact center, branch service roles, and general services where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely

Essential Job Functions
• Management for design, execution, and growth of the Bank’s small business portfolio

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 10+ years of sales management level experience, along with direct experience in Small Business or Commercial Lending
• Proven experience and consistent results delivering revenue growth while driving efficiencies
• Experience working direct with a digital lending platform
• Demonstrated success developing and coaching a sales team to achieve results
• Extensive understanding of the Small Business, Retail, and lending environments
• Working knowledge of the Bank's lending policies and procedures, bank operations and services, and federal and state banking regulations
• Ability to work in a matrix organization and develop partnerships across departmental lines

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $220,000.00 – $240,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Work Model
