Are you ready to lead and inspire change? We're seeking a dynamic strategist and public service leader to head the SIC team.
We're looking for a leader who will deliver expert level guidance on the strategy and priorities of the department, can confidently translate insights into strategy and communication planning and who understands how to lead professional teams. An understanding and strength in the communications environment is also critical.
In this influential role, you'll shape the department's strategic direction, provide expert advice to the Minister and senior executives, and drive impactful communication and engagement initiatives that support Queensland's diverse communities. This is a valued leadership role reporting to the Executive Director of SIC.
In this role, you will
Provide high-level, expert advice and counsel to the Minister and executive and senior leadership teams - on departmental strategy and opportunities.
Make SIC a great place to work, attracting top talent and driving high performance.
Support the ELT in setting the strategic direction and strategic decision-making for the department, implementing frameworks and systems to manage effective and efficient service delivery, including how the Department can support other agencies across government.
Effectively lead forward planning for the development, implementation and evaluation of contemporary communication and engagement strategies.
Mentor, grow and professionally challenge diverse and multi-disciplinary teams of communication professionals.

o lead and develop teams to success through applying relevant HR, budget and reporting processes, maintaining a customer service mentality, and building capacity and capability.
Specific role requirements
Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communication, or journalism highly valued.
