Job Description
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of pre-employment testing.
Possess a Secondary School Diploma.
Principal Tasks:
Evaluating emergency calls;
Determining the appropriate level of response;
Dispatching the appropriate emergency service (Police and Fire);
Maintain radio communication and provide support to Police and Fire personnel;
Respond to requests for support services from field personnel;
Perform record queries using available resources when required.
Candidates for the above part-time position should possess the following skills:
Excellent communication skills;
Able to work as part of a team;
Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities;
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment;
Ability to take initiative and address issues before they develop into problems;
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills;
Well-developed data-entry skills in a computerized environment.
Compensation: $42.83 per hour + 10% in lieu of benefits and 5.4% vacation pay.
Hours: No minimum guarantee in terms of hours as per collective agreement.
Candidates will be evaluated in several stages, which will include testing, panel interview, personality assessment and a background investigation.
