Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As the Deputy Manager - Maintenance within Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's Farm Division, you will be responsible for overseeing the comprehensive maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations within the manufacturing environment. This role involves designing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and optimise plant productivity. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency and safety compliance.

Key deliverables include:
• Planning and execution of routine and predictive maintenance activities aligned with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards including OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
• Effective management of maintenance staff and subcontractors, including training and skill development to promote a culture of reliability and excellence.
• Driving improvements in plant availability, quality standards (TS 16949), and operational processes through innovative problem-solving approaches.
• Collaborating closely with production to prioritise maintenance work and minimise impact on manufacturing deadlines.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and system records of maintenance activities to support audit and quality requirements.
• Championing initiatives that embed customer orientation and stakeholder management to uphold Mahindra’s ethos of customer delight and sustainability.

Education Qualification

Educational qualifications expected for this role include:
• A Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, enabling a solid technical foundation pertinent to maintenance operations in manufacturing settings.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Technology with a specialisation in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, which facilitates a comprehensive understanding of complex engineering systems and plant infrastructure.
• Qualifications should also reflect familiarity with industry standards and certifications relevant to quality and safety management.

General Experience

Candidates should bring a depth of experience aligned with the following profile:
• For those holding a B.Tech degree, between three to six years of progressive experience within manufacturing or automotive sectors, particularly in roles focussed on plant maintenance, production support, or equipment reliability.
• For Diploma holders, seven to ten years of demonstrable experience managing maintenance functions within similar industrial settings, showcasing leadership and technical acumen.
• Proven involvement in roles that implement preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies, and engage with various quality and safety management systems.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety standards.
