Fort Saskatchewan High serves approximately 470 students in grades 10 to 12, with 26 teaching staff and 14 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.

Fort Saskatchewan High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, contributing to the creation of an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of personalized Instructional Support Plans (ISPs) to cater to individual student needs.
Support students in developing skills in areas such as academics, communication, self-care, social interactions, vocational training, and independent living.
Facilitate a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment for all students.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance student learning and development.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, making necessary adaptations to the Alberta Education Programs of Study.
Assist with monitoring and recording student progress, adapting strategies as necessary to meet individual goals.
Assisting students with self regulation and identifying strategies to build positive citizenship.
Educational Assistants (EAs) assist teachers with many instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities. EAs work as members of the school and student support team. EAs either work with a particular special needs student or a group of students within a class or in a special program.
The EA provides routine and repetitive instructional support. Under the direction of the teacher, an EA assists the student in acquiring the education and skills necessary for advancement in the educational setting. To reach this objective, the EA follows an individually prescribed learning program, through team planning and working one-on-one with the student(s). This involves routine recording, basic charting and logging of observations. EAs may provide personal care and additional assistance for students depending on their particular needs.
