Description

Job Title: Employment Law Consultant

Location: Remote (UK)

Compensation: Hourly rate & project-based fee.

My client is a female-led boutique legal consultancy specialising in providing practical, high-quality employment law advice to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The fully remote team is dedicated to helping businesses navigate complex employment law issues with a flexible, client-focused approach. My client stands out from traditional law firms by fostering an entrepreneurial culture that emphasises work-life balance and flexibility.

Role Overview: They are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer Consultant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor in the UK or another Commonwealth jurisdiction, with practical, hands-on commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters, including settlement agreements, employment contracts, disciplinary processes, and grievances.
• Advise and guide SME clients on non-contentious employment law issues, ensuring compliance and risk management.
• Deliver commercially relevant, practical legal solutions to help businesses achieve their goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, working directly with business owners and executives.
• Operate as a self-starter, effectively managing your workload in a fully remote environment.

Requirements:
• Legal Qualifications: Qualified solicitor in the UK or a Commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g., Australia). Must hold a valid practising certificate.
• Law Firm Experience: Previous experience at a prestigious law firm.
• Commercial Experience: Proven experience working in-house, managing or advising a small business, or running your own business is crucial. Practical, hands-on understanding of business operations beyond the law firm environment is highly valued.
• Employment Law Expertise: Strong experience in employment law, particularly non-contentious matters. Ability to advise on and draft settlement agreements, employment contracts, and handle disciplinary and grievance matters is required.
• Remote Work Proficiency: Comfortable working remotely and managing a flexible schedule, including variable project-based compensation.

Why Join Them:
• Entrepreneurial Environment: Be part of a female-led, supportive, and dynamic team of experienced professionals who value innovation and independence.
• Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the flexibility to shape your own schedule—take the summer off if you wish or set your hours to suit your lifestyle.
• Supportive Team: Join a team that offers substantial support and collaboration, providing a strong network for success.
• Flexibility: Benefit from fully remote work and the freedom to manage your projects and set your own fees.
• Make a Difference: Work with a diverse range of SME clients, making a meaningful impact on their businesses while enjoying a career that fits your personal needs.

If you have the qualifications, experience, and entrepreneurial mindset they’re looking for, they'd love to hear from you. Apply now to be part of a forward-thinking legal consultancy dedicated to empowering SMEs.
