Primary objective
Provide management and coordination for a comprehensive engagement and heritage management program for the Rum
Jungle Rehabilitation Project.
Context statement
The Northern Territory Government (NTG), in partnership with the Commonwealth, have been developing a leading practice
rehabilitation strategy for the former Rum Jungle mine site since 2009. An integral part of the project is it’s community
engagement program, which involves engagement with the local community, particularly the regions Traditional Aboriginal
Owners, as well as general communication and engagement with project stakeholders and the public.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage and coordinate the work program of the Rum Jungle Engagement Team, which includes stakeholder and public
engagement activities, community training, business development and heritage management.
2. Lead the Engagement Team in the planning and coordination of engagement activities including critical stakeholder
meetings.
3. Lead the development and review of internal and external reports, documents, presentations and other engagement
materials.
4. Provide high-level advice to the Director, Heritage and Engagement to support the development, review and
implementation of strategic engagement plans and activities.
5. Act as a key point of contact for project stakeholders including community liaison and handling general feedback and
complaints processes.
