Key Responsibilities:
• Manage Sybase, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting various application systems.
• Maintain high availability and optimal performance of the databases, web application servers and web servers through database or OS clustering.
• Review of application design and coding for efficient database access.
• Manage security protections on Production, Disaster Recovery, Acceptance and Test computing environment.
• Ensure compliance with Government and CSA security policy in addition to the Quality Management System.
• Enforce corporate data management policy.
• Manage the service level of vendors/suppliers for IT infrastructure contracts.
• Analyse and solve end user problems related to IT infrastructure.
• Maintain and validate the IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Ensure project and operation documentations are kept up-to-date.
• Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers and users to ensure technical compatibility on infrastructure and application systems integration and user satisfaction.
[What we are looking for]
• Relevant educational background
• Prepared to undergo intensive training and development to acquire the skill and knowledge in administration of Sybase or Oracle databases including RAC and Dataguard, MSSSQL Servers.
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating system, Veritas/Oracle Clustering, Oracle WebLogic application servers and Oracle web servers running on various server platforms, cloud native databases and Nutanix will be an advantage.
• Experienced in Unix scripting to automate DBA tasks including regular maintenance jobs
• Ability in resolving database alerts and issues
• Proactive capacity monitoring and performance analysis
• Experience in patching and upgrading Oracle Dataguard and RAC environment
• Knowledgeable in database replication and database performance optimisation.
• Ability to thrive under pressure, function and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Be prepared to work in a team providing 24x7 support
• Strong documentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
