Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable, team-oriented Engineering Assistant to act as a liaison between our production and engineering teams. This position is unique and time will be shared evenly between our warehouse and office. You’ll be part of a growing global company with a close-knit Toronto team. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Liaise and communicate regularly with Winters Production and Engineering teams on any and all technical/engineering issues.
Perform duties by splitting time evenly between the Toronto office and the warehouse.
Support RMAs/CARs issue resolution, reviewing and reporting.
Review Winters marketing materials for technical accuracy.
Prepare inspection reports as required.
Prepare, maintain and approve all product engineering drawings and specifications in conjunction with the Corporate Engineering Manager.
Dial artwork review and approval.
Revise product specifications as required.
Liaise between WMS/partner factories/Purchasing and Winters Sales teams to ensure prompt preparation of quotations.
Provide quotes internally for non-standard, project-related products.
Manage manufacturing schedule and delivery times with Winters partner factories and internal manufacturing teams for key project orders.
Overall responsibility for management and execution of projects.
Ensure quality and accuracy of finished project orders.
Track and resolve any Corrective Action Requests related to project orders in conjunction with Winters Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Engineering degree or Certified Engineering Technologist.
5 or more years of work-related experience in the instrumentation industry.
Technical writing abilities, applications, and specification development experience.
Experience preparing engineering drawings and specification approvals.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Independent and works well in a team environment.
Technically inclined with ability to understand applications and provide solutions.
Willingness to travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION)
Work in an office environment with sitting and computer use for long periods of time.
Work in a shop environment with exposure to tools, equipment, and occasional heat during welding or brazing.
Use visual acuity for reading measurements, gauges, calibration marks, and detailed assembly work.
Occasionally lift, carry, and move parts or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
Regularly work in a shop environment with exposure to tools, equipment, and occasional heat during welding or brazing.
Occasionally travel to customer locations, which may involve loading/unloading and setup of equipment.
