About CDiTH The Centre for Digital Technologies in Healthcare (CDiTH) at IIIT Hyderabad is a healthcare-focused Research Translation Centre —dedicated to applying and extending academic research into real-world solutions. CDiTH actively works on solutions across public health, early screening & diagnostics, clinical decision support, and surgical data science, using technologies such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, and Application Development . Role Summary The Engineering Manager (EM) will play a pivotal leadership role in driving multiple healthcare technology projects from concept to deployment. The EM will work closely with the Centre Head , faculty, and researchers, while engaging directly with healthcare providers, industry partners, and other stakeholders. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management, and people leadership. The EM will ensure customer objectives are met, internal teams are empowered, and engineering best practices are upheld, all while contributing to CDiTH’s mission of impactful healthcare innovation. Key Responsibilities Customer & Stakeholder Management Engage effectively with customer stakeholders to understand objectives, problems, and requirements. Define project scope, deliverables, risks, and milestones in alignment with customer needs. Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders on progress, dependencies, and risks. Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term engagement. Delivery & Project Management Develop and maintain project roadmaps and execution plans. Contribute to and validate technical solutions, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and usability needs. Monitor progress, proactively manage risks, and implement course corrections. Ensure transparency of progress with both internal and external stakeholders. Adopt agile methodologies for continuous and iterative delivery. Engineering Excellence Establish and champion best engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps/MLOps, and quality assurance. Encourage strong UX, AI, and application design principles. Drive effective defect management and continuous improvement in engineering processes. Talent Development & Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and support engineers and researchers, addressing obstacles that hinder productivity. Understand individual aspirations and align them with project opportunities. Prepare and implement Learning & Development (L&D;) plans to nurture talent. Build a motivated, skilled, and high-performing engineering team. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline with a strong programming background. 10–15 years of software engineering experience , with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/managerial role . Working knowledge of developing solutions in AI/ML, cloud, application development and track record of deploying solutions in production . Strong knowledge of modern software development methodologies and tools (Agile, Jira/Asana, Git, CI/CD). Experience in project management, customer engagement, and talent development . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate across teams and influence without authority. Problem-solving mindset and curiosity to explore new technologies and domains. Compensation The position offers a remuneration in the range of ₹15–25 LPA, commensurate with the candidate’s experience, expertise, and qualifications with the understanding that this is a mission-driven role within a research and innovation setting.
