Entry Level Tax and Audit AccountantLocation: New York, NY
Type: Full-TimeZelin & Associates, CPA LLC is an established CPA firm in midtown Manhattan that has been servicing individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits primarily in the New York, New Jersey, and CT area since 1+80. We are a team of highly knowledgeable and friendly professionals who work hard to earn our role as trusted advisers. The focus of our full-service boutique firm is to provide clients with the highest quality of personalized service on a timely basis. All employees have the option to work 100% remotely.Position MissionThe Entry Level Tax and Audit Accountant is responsible for achieving and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction by providing accounting, audit, and tax services to our customers. The position requires working with multiple clients simultaneously.Responsibilities include:
Complete projects in compliance with professional standards, within budget, agreed upon timeline.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships with new and existing clients.
Coordinate team workload for engagements and assist the team as needed and ensure all deadlines are met.
Review and prepare business and personal income tax returns and projections including: Individual Tax (Form 1040), Partnership Tax (Form 1065), S Corporation Tax (Form 1120 S), C Corporation Tax (Form 1120), Exempt Orgs (Form ++0, ++0-PF), Fiduciary Tax Returns (Form 1041).
Assist with audits, reviews, and compilations; review and prepare financial statements.
Manage and perform business advisory services.
Participate in internal and external training opportunities.
Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients; Participate in new client proposals.
Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business (Accounting preferred).
Prior familiarity with auditing concepts (nonprofit industry preferred).
Tax preparation familiarity.
Knowledge of Lacerte tax software preferred.
Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks Desktop and QuickbooksOnline.
Strong analytical skills and good presentation skills.
Strong work ethic and is willing to work long hours to get the job done.
Follows through on commitments.
Enthusiastic/able to motivate others.
Proactive/takes initiative.
Excellent written and oral communication ability.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
