Womble Bond Dickinson has made significant strides in Environmental and Health & Safety (EHS) management. The firm has successfully led key environmental initiatives such as Net Zero Week and EnviroNovember. We have also achieved a Gold rating for Eco Vadis, placing us in the top +5th percentile for all companies reporting and have completed our sixth year of business carbon reporting and certification with The Planet Mark, who encourage action and aims to build an empowered community of like-minded individuals. We were recently recognised at the Planet Mark awards, receiving the Milestone award along with the Data Quality award.

Our commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated through comprehensive risk assessments, regular audits, and the development of policies like the Carbon Reduction Plan. These efforts position Womble Bond Dickinson as a leader in the EHS space within the legal sector.

We have made some fantastic progress and are now looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join the team based in Bristol.

The Role

As the EHS Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Firm meets its EHS compliance obligations. You will work closely with the Senior Facilities Management team to develop and maintain effective management systems and identify areas for improvement. You'll lead on the project to integrate ISO45001 with our existing ISO14001 management system as well as managing external audits and developing & updating key policies including our Carbon Reduction Plan. You'll be responsible for recording and managing data, and preparing and communicating reports to the business.

You'll be a leader in our environmental initiatives, chairing meetings with key stakeholders across the business and attending and contributing to various internal networks, including the Responsible Business Working Group, Net Zero Working Group, and Facilities Management Team meetings.

Along with the experience you've gained within Facilities Management, you'll be passionate about EHS and want to make a meaningful impact within a leading law firm.

We'd love to hear from you if you have knowledge of EHS legislation and the reporting obligations that go alongside that. You'll have an excellent understanding of ISO management systems, particularly 14001 and 45001 and demonstrate good knowledge and awareness of the challenges faced within the Legal sector.

You'll have strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.

To be successful in this role, you'll need as a minimum:
• Experience working in Facilities Management Environment
• Knowledge of EHS legislation
• NEBOSH Certificate is essential for this role
• A strong understanding of ISO management systems, particularly 14001 and 45001.
