Job Description
The City of Albany’s Environmental Health Team is looking for experienced and qualified individuals to take up the role of Environmental Health Officer with various employment opportunities.
Reporting to the Coordinator Health Services, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to;
Assisting with customer enquiries by providing advice, educational programs, and information literature on the broad range of environmental health issues.
Liaising with building, planning, and operations on environmental health matters.
Ensuring the City of Albany meets its obligations as defined by the Acts, Regulations and local laws relating to environmental health; and
Investigating, reporting, and taking action on complaints and breaches of legislation to level of delegation.
Desired Skills and Experience
A comprehensive knowledge the Local Government Act, Public Health Act, Environmental Protection Act and relevant regulations, local laws, policies, and procedures relevant to environmental health is required for this role. The successful candidate ill also need experience in the preparation of reports on environmental health issues as well as developing policies and procedures.
3 – 5 years work experience in environmental health and a Bachelor of Science Degree (Environmental Health) or a proven qualification acceptable for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer or authorised person is also essential for this position.
