Full job description
Want to work behind the scenes at some of Aotearoa's biggest music festivals, major sporting moments, and cultural events? MediaWorks is on the hunt for a new Event Partnerships Manager to connect brands to audiences in bold, creative and meaningful ways.

This is not your average desk job. You'll be front and center, creating and executing partnerships that put our brands in the spotlight and deliver unforgettable experiences for thousands of Kiwis across the motu.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you will drive the development and execution of impactful partnerships that elevate MediaWorks' brands and connect with communities nationwide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Ideation & Opportunity Creation: Identify and activate major revenue-generating partnership opportunities aligned with station brand values and strategic direction. -
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, sponsors, and brand partners.
Contract Negotiations: Work closely with legal teams to negotiate, refine, and finalise partnership agreements.
Performance Measurement: Evaluate partnership success using key metrics to ensure ROI and brand alignment.
Manage partnership budgets, revenue, and Paid-in-Kind agreements.
Execution & Collaboration:
Provide local markets with the tools and support needed for exceptional partnership delivery.
Create and execute successful partnership campaigns from pitch to invoicing. *
Monitor media exposure and sponsorship placements to ensure effective brand positioning.
What You'll Bring:

We're looking for someone with over 3 years' experience in partnerships, media, or a related field - someone who's energetic, organised, and execution-focused.

Proven experience in partnership and event management, activation development, and account service.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in budget management and contract negotiation.
Excellent relationship-building skills - both internally and externally. Previous experience in radio promotions and integrated campaign planning across Radio, Out of Home, and Digital would be ideal.
Solid understanding of social media and its role in partner activation and audience engagement.
Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
A strategic mindset and ability to work at pace with shifting priorities.
Important to note - this role involves being available to work over the New Year and summer holiday period, as many of our flagship events and key partnerships are during that time.
