We are
seeking an experienced and highly skilled Exadata Database Migration Specialist
to join our team. This role focuses on migrating Oracle Exadata databases to
AWS Cloud, ensuring a smooth transition, optimized performance, and secure data
handling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle Exadata
systems, AWS cloud services, and database migration techniques.<\/span>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>
Migration Strategy and Planning:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Develop and execute
detailed migration strategies for moving Exadata databases to AWS Cloud.<\/span>
<\/li>Create comprehensive
migration plans that include project scope, timelines, milestones, and
resource allocation.<\/span>
<\/li>Conduct risk assessments
and develop mitigation strategies to address potential migration
challenges.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Database Assessment and Analysis:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Perform thorough
assessments of existing Exadata environments to understand current
configurations, data structures, and performance requirements.<\/span>
<\/li>Identify and document
database dependencies, integration points, and potential issues that may
impact the migration.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>AWS Cloud Environment Configuration:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Design and configure AWS
cloud environments suitable for hosting Exadata databases, including
Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and EC2 instances.<\/span>
<\/li>Ensure the AWS setup
adheres to best practices for security, scalability, and high
availability.<\/span>
<\/li>Implement AWS features
such as Elastic Block Store (EBS) for storage, and configure networking
and security groups.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Data Migration and Transformation:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Utilize AWS Database
Migration Service (DMS), Oracle Data Pump, and other tools for migrating
data from Exadata to AWS.<\/span>
<\/li>Manage and execute data
transformation and validation processes to ensure data integrity and
consistency.<\/span>
<\/li>Oversee the migration of
both schema and data, handling large volumes of data efficiently.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Performance Optimization:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Monitor and optimize
database performance in the AWS environment by configuring appropriate
parameters, tuning queries, and implementing indexing strategies.<\/span>
<\/li>Address performance issues
related to latency, throughput, and resource utilization to achieve
optimal performance.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Testing and Validation:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Develop and execute
comprehensive testing plans to validate the success of the migration.<\/span>
<\/li>Perform functional,
regression, and performance testing to ensure applications operate
correctly and efficiently in the new environment.<\/span>
<\/li>Validate data accuracy and
integrity post -migration.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Identify, analyze, and
resolve issues related to the migration process, including performance
bottlenecks, data corruption, and compatibility issues.<\/span>
<\/li>Provide timely solutions
and escalate complex issues as needed.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Documentation and Reporting:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Create and maintain
detailed documentation for migration processes, configurations, and
troubleshooting procedures.<\/span>
<\/li>Prepare regular status
reports and updates for stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and
resolutions.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Collaboration and Communication:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Collaborate with
cross -functional teams, including application developers, system
administrators, and cloud architects, to ensure smooth integration and
successful migration.<\/span>
<\/li>Communicate effectively
with both technical and non -technical stakeholders, providing updates and
addressing concerns.<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Training and Support:<\/span><\/b>
<\/li>Provide training and
guidance to internal teams on managing and operating AWS -hosted
databases.<\/span>
<\/li>Offer ongoing support and
assistance for post -migration issues and optimizations.<\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>

Requirements:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>
Experience:<\/span><\/b> Minimum of 15+ years of experience in Oracle Exadata
administration and database management.<\/span>
<\/li>AWS Expertise:<\/span><\/b> Proven experience with AWS cloud
services, especially in the context of database solutions such as Amazon
RDS, Amazon Aurora, and EC2.<\/span>
<\/li>Migration Tools:<\/span><\/b> Proficiency with AWS Database Migration
Service (DMS), Oracle Data Pump, and related migration tools.<\/span>
<\/li>Performance Tuning:<\/span><\/b> Deep understanding of database
performance tuning, including indexing, query optimization, and resource
management.<\/span>
<\/li>Project Management:<\/span><\/b> Strong project management skills,
including experience with planning, executing, and managing complex
database migration projects.<\/span>
<\/li>Analytical Skills:<\/span><\/b> Excellent problem -solving abilities with
a focus on data integrity, performance optimization, and issue resolution.<\/span>
<\/li>Communication:<\/span><\/b> Exceptional verbal and written
communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with
diverse teams and stakeholders.<\/span>
<\/li>Certifications (Preferred):<\/span><\/b> AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS
Certified Database – Specialty, Oracle Exadata certifications, or similar
qualifications.<\/span>

Preferred Skills:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>
Experience with hybrid cloud environments
and integration of on -premises databases with AWS cloud solutions.<\/span>
<\/li>Familiarity with additional AWS services
such as AWS Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Backup, and AWS Glue.<\/span>
<\/li>Knowledge of security best practices for
cloud -based databases, including data encryption, access control, and
compliance.<\/span>
