About the Role
The primary purpose of the Executive Assistant to the Regional People and Culture Officer, Te Manawa Taki Region is to provide high quality, timely, one-to-one support including working with matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
The Regional People & Culture is a third-tier role within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora reporting to the Executive Regional Director Te Manawa Taki with a dotted line to the Executive National Director People & Culture, Health & Safety and is part of Te Manawa Taki Region as well as People and Culture national Senior Leadership Team.
The Regional People & Culture Officer leads the People and Culture function for the region, and this role provides support to interface with the Executive Regional Director, Te Manawa Taki Region Senior Leadership Team, Group Director Operations, National P&C SLT, Directors HR Operations and the wider Te Manawa Taki Region P&C team. It also supports critical governance and forums, including managing the agenda and papers. Forums include but not limited to P&C related committees in the region, union joint consultative forums and others as required.
About you
You bring proven experience supporting a senior leader (Tier 3 or equivalent) within a large and complex Government department. Comfortable operating at pace, you understand the importance of discretion, judgement and professionalism when working at an executive level.
Highly organised and proactive, you are skilled in complex calendar management, coordinating meetings across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring senior leaders are fully briefed and prepared. Juggling competing priorities comes naturally, and you anticipate needs before they arise.
Confident with financial administration, you can process invoices, reconcile payments and provide accurate financial reporting as required. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy mean nothing slips through the cracks.
Above all, you are dependable, adaptable and take pride in enabling senior leaders to focus on strategic priorities while you manage the operational detail behind the scenes.
