Primary objective
Provide timely advice, and high-level strategic and executive support to the Regional Executive Director (RED) and members of the Big
Rivers Region Health Leadership (BRRHL) Team.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Prepare and coordinate high-quality submissions, responses, briefings, memorandums and reports on behalf of the RED and BRRHL

team, ensuring alignment with NT Government processes and organisational requirements.
2. Provide high-level secretariat support to committees chaired by the RED and BRRHL team as required, supporting both operational

matters and emergency management response activities.
3. Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships and foster relationships with key staff across the Big Rivers Regional Health

Service (BRRHS), the wider organisation and external stakeholders.
4. Lead and oversee daily operations of the Big Rivers Executive Office, providing direction, guidance and supervision to other

Administration Officers, supporting a high-performing, accountable and professional team environment.
5. Act as a key liaison point by responding to enquiries from staff at all levels, external stakeholders and members of the public, providing

accurate and timely advice on BRRHS functions, activities and processes.
6. Support efficient administrative operations across the Executive Office and BRRHS by developing, implementing and maintaining

effective procedures, systems and workflows, and providing assistance to other staff as required.
7. Provide support and drive continuous quality improvement activities relating to workforce planning, operational priorities and service

delivery models, while operating effectively within a remote, cross-cultural and resource limited environment.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to

ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and prepare high quality complex correspondence, briefings, submissions and other

documentation for senior executives.
2. Proven experience delivering high‑level executive and secretariat support in politically sensitive and complex environments, while

upholding professionalism, ethics, departmental values and accountability.
3. Ability to provide strong leadership and management skills and an ability to develop a strong culture of teamwork and accountability,

to build individual and organisational capability and responsiveness.
4. Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, support robust

decision-making and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Extensive knowledge and proficiency in computer systems including advanced use of word processing, spreadsheets, email, records

management, database and major business systems.
6. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team while using initiative, managing competing priorities and adapting to change

in a fast-paced environment subject to pressure and complexity.
7. Proven ability to build and sustain strategic and professional relationships with key stakeholders and interact effectively with people

of diverse cultures and backgrounds, including remote Aboriginal communities.

Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in a discipline related to public administration, public sector management or equivalent.
2. A working knowledge of the NT health and NT Government organisational structures.
