Job Description
Located at the Pier Hotel at the Pier (North Vancouver) just steps away from Lonsdale Quay and the Seabus Terminal in North Vancouver Historic Shipyard, The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge is well-situated for walk-in and return clientele.
Responsibilities include directing workflow, educating, and assisting staff, and ensuring quality goals to ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and excellent guest-service standards.
Your passion, purpose, and potential:
Serve as an educator, as well as an inspirational, committed, and responsible leader to the restaurant’s front-of-house team.
Be active on the floor during high traffic times in the restaurant, to ensure a vibrant atmosphere while keeping an eye on the level and consistency of service and aiding the team when in need.
Identify operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct those deficiencies.
The communications trifecta: excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and detail-oriented, and above all, a team player.
Work with Executive Chef and Hotel General Manager to develop menu offerings that are aligned with the brand’s business strategy and lead execution to maximize revenue for the department.
Focus on growing revenues and maximizing financial performance of the department
Recruiting optimal team members, interviewing, training and continued coaching to improve colleague performance.
Actively promote the restaurant on the North Shore through the development of marketing and sales strategies.
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, provide feedback, and address concerns.
All other duties as assigned.
Credentials:
Minimum 4 years managerial experience in a similar restaurant or hotel environment.
Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant management Degree is a strong asset.
Proven leadership skills and a track record of training, grooming and developing team members
Extensive knowledge of wines and spirits. Bartending experience and/or WSET is considered an asset.
Familiar with Micros POS, Open Table, and Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Posses a Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1.
First Aid Level 1 certified.
