Job Description
In this role, you will get to take ownership of operational issues and perform both short-term resolution, such as bug fixes, and development of preventive measures for the longer term. You will proactively monitor for highest availability and performance of the systems you support while managing and responding to queries and issues reported by business users. You will also get an opportunity to utilise development skills to drive automation and improvement and use your effective communication and stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships across the business.
To ensure full business coverage you will be working assigned shifts, on weekdays, as part of follow-the-sun support model.
To be successful in this role we anticipate that you bring 5 to 7 years of experience, sound analytical and problem-solving skills, and a selection of the following technical skills:
• Strong understanding of ITIL/Service Management processes. Understanding of application systems support
• Understanding of AWS (including, but not limited to S3, EC2, EBS, ELB, RDS, VPC, IAM, Security Groups)
• Experience of working with DevOps, CI, and CD
• Experience in SQL and relational databases (preferably MS SQL/Oracle)
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Dot Net or other relevant Object-Oriented programming
• Experience in PowerShell or Shell scripting.
• Experience in Control M
• Experience in one or more of the following technologies will be highly regarded Helix or a similar ticket handling systemConfluence, Jira, BitbucketBitbucket, Control-M, Application Servers (Microsoft/Linux))Splunk, AppDynamics, or a similar monitoring tool
It is also an added advantage if you have experience in programming languages like Python and experience working with big data tools such as Spark, Hive or Impala. Previous experience in supporting vendor based critical/financial applications will also be an added advantage.
