About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Process invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements for accounts payable.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Prepare and process vendor payments.
• Process customer invoices, track payments, and resolve any outstanding invoices for accounts receivable.
• Prepare and maintain customer account records.
• Conduct credit checks and monitor customer accounts for potential risks.
• Reconcile bank statements with company records on a regular basis.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
• Prepare journal entries for various transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for financial statements.
• Analyze financial data and identify trends.
• Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend analysis.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of sales tax returns and other tax filings.
• Implement and maintain internal controls.
Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, NetSuite).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
