Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general shop practices and an understanding of mechanical systems. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects involving custom fabrication and industrial hose assembly for the Maritime and Oil & Gas industries.
Duties
Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and/or work orders.
Operate various fabrication equipment such as crimping machines, lathes, drill press, plasma cutters, torches, power tools, hand tools, etc.
Cut, shape, and assemble carbon, mild, and stainless steel parts.
Move and handle materials using a forklift.
Hydrostatically test industrial hoses to spec.
Engrave or stamp identifying bands on hoses post testing.
Neatly and safely pack hoses for shipment in boxes, on pallets, or in crates for shipment to customers domestically and internationally.
Follow safety protocols related to hot work and manufacturing environments.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area by organizing, cleaning, and sweeping at the end of every shift.
Required Skills
Proven experience with construction site fabrication or manufacturing environments.
Ability to interpret work orders and isometric drawings accurately.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, shop machinery, and fabrication equipment.
Ability to accurately use measuring tapes (imperial and metric), calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments within a strict margin of error.
Strong math skills for calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
What could set you apart from other candidates?
Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG and TIG processes.
Experience and familiarity with codes & standards related to Maritime or Oil & Gas.
