We are searching for a Finance Assistant to work at our head office in Nuneaton.
Initially the successful candidate will work 4 days (30 hours) Monday to Friday, however the role is expected to increase to 5 days over time.
Salary £25,500.00 is pro rated at 30 hours per week.
Working hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm (non negotiable)
Job Description:
· Raise Monthly recurring Invoices using a bespoke package
· Raise Adhoc invoices
· Update Spreadsheets with invoicing information
· Process and Input data onto Sage Line 50
· Update and process Cash Day Book sheets onto Sage
· Take Cheques /Cash to the Post office as needed
· Liaise with Credit Control, Service Managers & senior managers about finance issues as necessary
· Investigate and highlight unposted receipts to Manager
· Attend meetings as necessary
· Assist with Invoicing queries to find resolution
· Ensure accounting practices comply with relevant accounting standards and that business policies and procedures are followed
Support the team to ensure that all transactions are correctly processed/recorded, through journal approval and reconciliation
· Support with weekly & month end reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and delivery on time
· Liaise with colleagues from other departments as necessary
· Undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by the Finance Manager
Person Specification (E- essential, D-desired)
· Up to date knowledge of accounting practice E
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written E
· IT skills E
· Experience of using Sage D
· Numerical and budgeting skills E
· Excellent organisational ability and time management E
· Demonstrate a commitment to our core business purpose of providing high
quality support to vulnerable adults E
· Promote the organisation and self in positive and professional manner E
· Maintain confidentiality E
· Take initiative to improve one’s own work E
· Encourage others to make the best use of their abilities E
· Have mechanisms in place to manage stress and personal emotions E
· Fully qualified or studying accountant qualified or Qualified by experience D
· Hours of work will usually fall between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, but
occasional attendance of an evening or weekend may be required E
· Attendance at our other offices or venues other than Head Office may be
required from time-to-time E
Qualifications.
· GCSE Maths and English – Essential
· Business Admin Vocation -Desired
· Working towards or have Part qualified AAT -Desired
