Job Description
We are looking for a GL Accounting Manager for World's 3rd Video conferencing organization:
Location: Chennai
Responsibilities
• You will own Global general ledger accounting operations, managed from our COE in Chennai.
• You will quickly gain an understanding of current accounting practices and SOPs then work to improve processes working practices.
• You will deliver timely and accurate accounting services to the business.
• You will develop, mentor and coach a talented team, providing them with clear roles and responsibilities.
• You will manage and co-ordinate the process of closing the monthly general ledger for substantially all Group companies.
• You will review account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts each month end.
• You will manage internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other statutory requirements.
• You will maintain the appropriate internal control environments of the company and update the controls documentation as systems or processes are modified.
• Demonstrable experience managing lease accounting, fixed assets, cash, accruals and payment amortization
• Good knowledge on process documentation and creating standard operating procedures for a team to follow.
• Manages the annual audit activities and communicates well with external auditors.
• Coordinates the detailed analysis and review of the balance sheet account analysis, including accruals, and signs-off on specific material general ledger journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
• Assists and optimizing cash flow by ensuring daily bank reconciliations are performed,
Manages and provides leadership for the daily activities of the GL accounting team, including setting direction for the department and providing professional development for staff.
Required Experience:
• Qualified Chartered accountant with 10+years of post qualification experience
• Hands-on experience in Indian GAAP/IFRS/US GAAP/ASC606 preferably in Revenue
• Proven working experience as an Accounting or Finance Manager with a team of direct reports.
