This role involves working closely with all staff across Council as we imbed Self Service Requisitioning into our SAP system. You'll be involved in supporting users of the SAP purchasing module, investigating process improvements, sustainable efficiencies, integrity flow of financial information, supporting financial training delivery for Council budget holders and and much much more.

Attitude is key. We are seeking someone who has a knowledge of financial processes, especially how the purchasing function fits into the bigger picture, who can jump down rabbit holes to understand the end-to-end process, identify areas for improvement and find solutions. You will have experience training adult learners and have a key understanding of what contributes to effective digital and facilitated learning initiatives.
Someone who is customer centric, is willing to take the initiative, and is able to collaborate with the different functions across the council. You will ideally have practical financial experience with knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, reporting and financial systems.
You are a person who enjoys interactions with people on all levels, can build trust, and is eager to listen and learn from those around you. You will thrive in an ever-changing environment.

Hours of work - Full-time, permanent
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 - $107,183 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
