We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Talladega College. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in maintaining general ledgers, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing journal entries.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers and bank statements.
• Verify cash receipts and disbursements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and record journal entries, as needed.
• Assist external auditors with audit schedules and provide support for the annual audit process.
• Inventory physical assets and maintain an accurate fixed asset ledger.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an academic environment. A Master's degree or CPA certification is desirable.
