Classification Summary - Union
We are looking for an experienced professional with an accounting designation to join the Financial Services team as a Financial Analyst. Our Financial Analysts showcase their superior leadership, pro-active communication, and strong technical and analytical skills while problem-solving and managing projects.
This position will be supporting the Glenmore Ellison Irrigation District (GEID) in daily financial operations as well as the transition project to the City of Kelowna and will be located at the GEID office.
Duties - Union
Critically analyzes data, interprets information, legislation and policy, and provides recommendations.
Prepares complex spreadsheets for financial accounting functions.
Liaises with other department staff and external organizations in support of municipal operations.
Develops, reviews and approves financial transactions and reports.
Develops, monitors and audits special projects and agreements.
Researches and assists with policy development.
Coaches financial services staff.
Prepares and delivers presentations.
Drafts and prepares Council Reports.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience with a minimum of two (2) years at the Accountant level of experience or higher
