About Hyperlayer
Hyperlayer is a B2B product company, building a platform to revolutionise the world of payments. Hyperlayer transforms digital wallets into smart wallets that change the way people, and businesses, spend money. Wallets powered by Hyperlayer let consumers withdraw money from multiple accounts with a single tap, for a specific purpose.
Our platform enables capabilities such as connecting specific accounts with targeted brand spending, it gives merchants and customers access to cutting-edge rewards, and since spending is social, Hyperlayer supports group saving, sharing and spending. All in one platform.
Hyperlayer is working with large retailers and financial institutions. Our product introduces innovation to these industries to create solutions: helping consumers, families, and groups improve their financial wellbeing by making their money go further. Aside from our large institutional clients, Hyperlayer also powers the award-wining consumer wallet, HyperJar.
About the role:
This is a foundational finance leadership role with both operational responsibility and strategic importance. You'll be our first in-house senior finance hire and will play a critical part in ensuring we have strong financial controls, a clear path through our fundraising journey, and the internal visibility needed to make great decisions.
While we outsource our bookkeeping and transactional finance to a third-party provider, you’ll be responsible for overseeing that relationship and making sure the systems, processes, and reporting are rock solid. As the business scales, you’ll need to build a high-performing in-house finance team.
You’ll also work closely with our C-suite on visionary projects, financial planning, and the long-term growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Business as Usual
Own all aspects of financial control, reporting, and forecasting.
Manage the Finance Manager / outsourced bookkeeping and accounting providers; ensure timely, accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Manage cash flow and working capital.
Perform financial monitoring and reconciliations related to our B2C prepaid card product, including transaction-level checks and reconciliation between card processors and accounting records.
Ensure a clear understanding of interchange fee structures and how they impact financial performance and reporting.
Ensure tax compliance (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.) and manage filings, working with external advisors where needed.
Build and continuously improve finance processes, policies, and internal controls.
Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packs for internal stakeholders and board.
Fundraising Support
Support the C-suite in financial modelling and planning for future fundraising rounds.
Assist in maintaining investor-ready financial models
Prepare due diligence materials and liaise with external parties during funding processes.
