Jar (https://www.myjar.app) is a savings app that helps its users save daily in the form of digital gold — we wish to help Indians rediscover the long-term benefits of habitual daily savings in an era where instant gratification is king.
Jar was founded by Nishchay AG, former director and founding member at mobility start-up Bounce, and Misbah Ashraf, founder of community-focused ecommerce platform Marsplay.
What does Jar do?
Jar is building a micro-wealth management platform one step at a time — starting with micro savings, financial literacy, micro investments, and encouraging people to habituate the act of saving.
About This Role-
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Additionally, your responsibilities will also include financial risk assessment & management.

Responsibilities
• To lead the controllership charter of JAR
• Managing all finance and accounting operations
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and reports
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Ensuring the implementation and maintenance of control systems in Finance team
• Manage and comply with statutory requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and
• Strengthen internal controls
• Additional controller duties as necessary
Requirements
• CA with 3-5 years of experience in Accounting & Controllership
• Prior experience of working in start ups
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
