About the Role
As the Financial Controller at Redpath, manage Redpath Australia’s accounting operations to ensure effective and accurate reporting, control of funds, compliance with accounting standards, and the development and management of employees.
Key responsibilities
Ensure the development and preparation of financial and accounting information for management
Interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of cost, budgets, trends and increased profit possibilities;
Prepare all schedules for financial reporting in accordance with statutory requirements and the needs of management;
Make recommendations concerning management of funds, cash flow and financial policy;
Manage external audit process;
Manage Delegations of Authority;
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of financial plans and forecasts;
Identify business process improvements of finance processes and participate in scoping, planning and any implementation of justified business process improvements;
Ensure compliance with Redpath’s Management Systems and relevant statutory regulations;
About You
Current CA, CPA or CIMA qualifications
Analytical skills with experience in data analysis and expertise in Excel
Exposure to mining industry preferred
Strong ability to provide authoritative professional specialist advice on financial and accounting issues;
Sound knowledge and understanding of financial systems and arrangements;
Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals;
Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills;
The ability to interact with and influence a wide range of people in a confident and credible manner;
Demonstrated capability to critically review monthly results with management;
Demonstrated ability to develop other team members;
Current competence to research and apply analytical skills to problem solve;
Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate a number of tasks and projects to meet deadlines;
