The role will involve the following:-
Running of the day-to-day transactional activities, using the accounting software
Xero for group companies and a standalone company.
Dealing with recharges throughout the group to ensure that all costs are
correctly allocated and reflected correctly across the group to ensure that accurate and reliable profit and loss accounts are produced.
The preparation of accurate profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for the group companies and a stand alone company that have been fully reconciled on a monthly basis for presentation to the Directors with detailed commentary.
The preparation of monthly budgets, cashflows and forecasting to enable the Directors to plan for future growth and make high level decisions based on the figures.
To carry out the bank reconciliations for each of the companies on a daily basis to ensure that monies coming in and out of the bank are regularly updated.
Credit control is a fundamental part of the business and so a weekly review of the sales and purchase ledger is required and you will be responsible for chasing the debtors of the company and paying suppliers according to payment terms and to ensure that cashflow remains at a healthy level.
Preparation of the quarterly VAT returns for the group registration and for the one standalone company and submission to HMRC in a timely manner.
Assessing the back-office systems and processes currently in place and implementing new systems in order to make them effective and secure.
Liaising with the external Accountant on year end procures and six monthly figures.
We are seeking someone with a strong background in this industry, with at least 5 years experience in a UK Financial Controller role. This person is required to be highly organised with strong communication skills and confident in using Xero software.
Ideally we would prefer the candidate to carry either the qualification, AAT or ACCA/ACA.
