Located in Atlanta, GA, we're a startup phase company experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a talented Controller to join our team.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the SVP of Accounting and Finance, the Controller will be instrumental in overseeing all accounting functions within our dynamic environment ensuring the integrity of financial reports, the maintenance of accounting records, and the implementation of controls and budgets to mitigate risk and enhance financial accuracy. This role is crucial in guiding our financial planning, analysis, and strategic goal achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Tax
• Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and train the accounting team (currently 1 staff accountant, but growing), fostering an environment of continuous improvement and strategic focus. Ensure readiness to engage in both high-level strategic thinking and detailed operational tasks.
• Financial Oversight: Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, variance analysis, manage budgetary controls, drive goal setting with KPI’s, and ensure accurate revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
• Strategic Planning: Assist in annual budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis. Manage cash flow forecasting and financial modeling to support company operations and customer profitability analysis.
• Compliance & Reporting: Liaise with external auditors and tax accountants, manage tax filings, and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Quality Assurance and Policy Development: Ensure the highest quality standards by overseeing the implementation, documentation, and adherence to departmental SOPs. Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to enhance and streamline internal controls.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Sales, and IT departments to streamline processes and support the SVP of Accounting and Finance with banking, investment, and compliance reporting.
Requirements:
• Active CPA license with at least 6 years of experience in a comparable role.
• Experience in full cycle accounting, multi-entity accounting and inventory accounting, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• Strong finance management background with auditing and compliance orientation.
• Deep experience with MS Business Central.
• Skilled in QuickBooks Online and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with MS Dynamics CRM, Certify Expense Reporting, and PowerBI is a plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
