Job Description
Our practice represents insurers in complex commercial and insurance disputes, with a focus on matters involving commercial general liability and excess policies. As a junior associate, you will work closely with experienced attorneys on substantive matters from the outset, gaining hands‑on experience in case analysis, legal research and writing, discovery, and strategic dispute resolution, while building a strong foundation for a long‑term litigation practice.
What You'll Do
• Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients.
• Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda.
• Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence in connection with insurance coverage litigation.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Attend and support depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and client communications.
We're Looking For Someone Who
• Is planning to sit for the Washington State Bar Exam (or is otherwise eligible for Washington State admission).
• Possesses strong academic credentials.
• Has a demonstrated interest in insurance coverage and litigation matters.
• Brings excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Has strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Is comfortable handling sensitive and time‑sensitive matters.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and effective problem‑solving skills.

The salary for this position is $125,000. The salary for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed salary estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
