We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
individual for the position of Fitness Technician and Fitness
Monitor for the Salmo Recreation Department!
Both the Fitness Technician & Monitor are part of the
Customer Service Team at the Salmo and District Recreation
Center. Duties include: performing various functions to
support the operation of the Fitness Center, providing a high
level of service and proactively monitoring the fitness center
for cleanliness and safety of all patrons.
FITNESS TECHNICIAN &
FITNESS MONITOR
PART-TIME
Thank you for your interest in working with the Regional District of
Central Kootenay. All submissions will be acknowledged although
only those individuals shortlisted to participate in the interview/
testing process will be contacted. This posting may be used to fill
other similar positions within the RDCK over the next six months.
Fitness Monitor Fitness Technician
Ability to conduct and lead fit-
ness orientations and programs
Safety-focused; assisting clients
with equipment use and tech-
nique
Current Weight Training Certifi-
cation (or equivalent)
Standard First Aid with CPR C
AED certification
$23.5+/hour + 4% in lieu of
benefits will be added to each
pay cheque

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrated team work, leadership
abilities, and ability to work with mini-
mal supervision
Demonstrated ability to communicate
effectively with supervisor, co-workers
and members of the public
Demonstrated ability to effectively fol-
low emergency procedures
Demonstrated ability to provide an ex-
ceptional level of customer service
Strong inter-personal skills
Ability to demonstrate initiative and self-
motivation
