Job Overview
The Flooring and Cabinet Counter Salesperson at Home Hardware is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in the flooring and cabinet department. This role involves advising customers on product selection, providing accurate quotes, and ensuring they understand installation processes and local regulations. The salesperson must have strong product knowledge and assist customers in choosing the right flooring and cabinet solutions for their needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance: Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers in the flooring and cabinet department, helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
Product Knowledge: Demonstrate expertise in a variety of flooring and cabinet products, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and different cabinet styles and materials.
Product Selection: Assist customers in selecting products that best suit their needs, considering factors like room size, style, durability, and budget.
Quotations & Estimates: Prepare accurate quotations and estimates for customers based on product selection, installation requirements, and local building codes.
Installation Guidance: Advise customers on proper installation methods for flooring and cabinets, ensuring they understand the process, tools needed, and any applicable regulations.
Pricing and Discounts: Provide pricing information and apply any available discounts, promotions, or special offers, ensuring customers receive the best value for their purchases.
Building Code Knowledge: Ensure that customers are aware of local building codes and regulations regarding the installation of flooring and cabinets.
Product Ordering: Assist customers in placing orders for specific products that may not be readily available in-store and follow up on product availability.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and notify management of low inventory to ensure product availability for customer needs.
Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any questions or concerns and offering after-sales support.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members and departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction in the store.
Sales Goals: Meet or exceed sales targets by promoting relevant products, upselling, and offering product recommendations.
Skills
Strong customer service skills with a focus on building relationships.
Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally.
Proven ability to sell products effectively while understanding customer needs.
Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering processes.
Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
Experience in retail sales or technology sales is preferred.
Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer engagement.
