Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Forensic Mental Health Team in the Central Australia Region.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical services in psychiatry at the level of Consultant to clients of the Forensic Mental Health Team and Mental Health ******* and Other Drugs, Central Australia Region.
Participate fully in activities of the Northern Territory Medical Program, including teaching of psychiatry to medical students and the Post Graduate Psychiatry Training Program of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.
Develop and maintain expertise in forensic mental health and contribute to the development of best practice guidelines for the region.
Selection Criteria:
A medical degree and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist psychiatrist.
Experience in forensic mental health and a strong understanding of the complexities of treating individuals with mental illness in a custodial setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including patients, families, carers, healthcare professionals and community groups.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to engage in research and academic activities.
