Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, innovative, and motivated individual to join our team as a Clinical Director-Regional Surgical Program . The Clinical Director will work in partnership with the Executive Director of the Regional Surgical Program and Physician Program Lead and working in collaboration with their team, the successful incumbent will provide strategic and operational leadership for the surgical program primarily out of the Fredericton region.

Who you are

You have a worked as a healthcare leader for a minimum of 7 years. You have experience in healthcare administration, mentoring, leading, facilitating, team building, negotiation, decision-making and conflict resoultion.

You hold a master's degree in business or healthcare management, or equivalent tranining and experience within a clinical profession. Surgical and operating room experience is an asset.

You have 5-8 years of progessive administrative and management experience in the healthcare sector.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Proficiency in French is a valuable asset.

What you will do

The Clinical Director for the Regional Surgical Care Program will lead and facilitate the delivery of quality care in close collabration with the applicable Horizon Clinical Networks/Programs.

Leadership and Management:

Provide visionary leadership.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous performance improvement to delivery safe, quality patient care.
Ensure departments are fiscally responsible.
Oversee the daily operations
Strategic Planning and Continuous Performance Improvement:

Developing in collaboration with your Executive Director of Surgical Services, a comprehensive strategic plan and annual operational plan for your Program that aligns with Horizon Health Network's strategic objectives and addresses community needs.
Creating and implementing quality and efficiency improvement plans for your Program to ensure alignment with best practices and standards of care.
Continuously evaluate and improve the quality and efficiency of services through established key performance indicators, project specific metrics, audits, and feedback from the teams.
Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborating effectively with regional partners and community stakeholders to secure necessary support to ensure successful delivery of the Programs mandate,goals and objectives.
Maintaining effective and consistent communication with all members of your team to foster a collaborative environment and high level of engagement within your Program and across Horizon.
Patient Safety and Quality Assurance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and licensure requirements, maintaining documentation and records as needed.
Implement and maintain regional protocols, policies, and quality assurance initiatives to uphold patient safety and enhance outcomes.
Monitor incident reporting, address incidents as they arise, and implement recommendations from quality process reviews in the specified timeframe.
Staff Development:

Collaborate in the recruitment of staff with talent acquisition.
Foster an environment of professional growth and educational advancement.
Address the resolution of practice, behavioral, and attendance issues in collaboration with department managers, professional practice, and human resources as appropriate.
Budget Management:

Ensure all departments are adhering to defined budgets.
Monitor monthly variances and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and utilization of equipment and technology to ensure the highest level of care.
Specific Regional Health Authority Responsibilities:

Represent the program on committees locally, regionally and provincially.
Prepare, on request, reports for presentation to various administrative board committees, foundations, and the Department of Health.
Assumes regular responsibility for Clinical Director On-Call for respective zone as per established schedule.
