The successful candidate will participate in the creation, and later lead, an ocean freight operations team which will become an integral part of our unrivalled supply chain management offering. The key to our services package is our proprietary system’s Control Tower tools which ensure smooth delivery of cargoes, help to anticipate challenges and risks, guide us to initiate proactive actions and steer risk mitigation options.
Overall responsibility for operational excellence in managing maritime shipments exported from USA & Canada.
Together with other collaborators, design and rollout documented freight operations workflows and procedures which ensure operational excellence and comply with federal regulations. The resulting procedures should consider productive utilization of resources and quantifiable, superior service levels.
Lead Freight Operations team for USA & Canada in performing below day-to-day functions:
Support and guide the USA & Canada team of Operations Analysts by observing adherence to procedures, monitoring the completion and accuracy of shipment data and documents, note deviations or delays in scheduled shipment events, confirm timely and accurate submission of shipping instructions and VGM.
Analize data to implement or recommend, depending on severity of the situation, actions to correct errors or to proactively mitigate potential challenges and risks.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Proven experience in freight operations with a focus on implementation and process improvement. Demonstrated ability implementing and executing superior practices in freight operations, including, inland haulage and customs operations, in a high-volume FCL shipments environment.
Strong collaboration skills
Experience in supervising staff, including conducting periodic performance reviews.
Leadership skills with a focus on performance, operational efficiency and compliance.
Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, orally and in writing.
The ability to work in both groups and on self-directed projects.
Working knowledge of freight forwarding platforms and MS Office suite.
