About the Role
Avant is looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to help shape the future of our digital member and customer experience. You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing Avant’s digital capabilities, with a primary focus on the Group website (built on Kontent.ai and Netlify), as well as broader projects across the MarTech stack.
In this hands-on role, you will use your advanced Next.js, HTML, and CSS skills to build flexible, modular components and tools that support optimized experiences across devices. You will use DevOps to deliver continuous improvement while focusing on quality development in line with the group SDLC and ensure focus on code integrity and security. With experience working across stakeholder groups you will support marketing campaign delivery and bring ideas to life using our existing component library and design tools such as Figma.
As part of a high-performing digital team, you will contribute to the evolution of the customer journey across platforms, enabling new applications for digital servicing, origination, identity verification You will champion the adoption of AI-driven technologies to accelerate delivery and the evolution of member and customer experiences. .
Key responsibilities:
Design and build reusable, modular front-end components using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks in line with SDLC practices.
Develop, test, and deploy new features and templates in Kontent.ai, empowering teams to create and manage optimised digital content.
Support internal stakeholders in publishing campaigns and content updates through the CMS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI-driven capabilities that enhance member experiences and improve performance.
Partner with Technology, Product, Segment, and Design teams to deliver initiatives that align with business goals and KPIs.
Apply Agile methodologies to prioritise and deliver work that drives continuous value.
Promote adoption of the MarTech stack by supporting business teams in using tools such as Kontent.ai, Braze, GA4, and GTM.
Skills and experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years experience in front-end development, delivering responsive, user-centric digital experiences.
Strong experience with React, Next.js, or similar JavaScript frameworks in a headless CMS environment (e.g. Kontent.ai, AEM).
Experience implementing component-based architectures and reusable UI libraries/design systems.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous data handling.
Familiarity with DevOps, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines in Agile environments.
Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
Exposure to MarTech ecosystems, including tools like Braze, Google Tag Manager, GA4, or similar.
Strong grasp of web performance optimisation, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
Good understanding of UX/UI principles, mobile-first and responsive design.
Experience with modern cloud hosting and deployment environments (e.g. Netlify, Vercel, Azure).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Passion for innovation and keeping up with the latest in front-end technologies.
