Job description
Experience – 3 to 5 Years

Responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing, Drafting and negotiating all documentation governing business, procurements, outsourcing, large scale IT deals and Technology Contracts.
2. Driving complex Software Licensing and other IT arrangements and contracts.
3. Advise and support senior stakeholders on deals providing commercially sound advice while mitigating risks for the Company.
4. Advising on termination of agreements/ dealings of commercial contracts including disputes relating to such contracts
5. IP protection – trademarks, copyright, etc.
6. Experience with litigation
7. Employment law and related matters
8. Experience in handling IT/non-IT projects, technology contracts , cloud, IT services , Property contracts, Litigations and Corporate laws
+. Sound experience in handling large legal projects
10. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines
11. Effective communicator and team player, excellent problem solving, conflict resolution skills.
12. Strong written and verbal skills.
13. Should be open to work from office.

ROLE:
JioSaavn is currently seeking an experienced attorney to join our in-house legal team to play a crucial legal and business affairs role for JioSaavn’s operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the evolving needs of a fast-paced and high growth business, bringing pragmatic solutions, best practices and strategies for managing legal risks. We are looking for a talented attorney with initiative and drive who can effectively partner with business teams and handle a high volume of varied and complex legal work in the media, data privacy and technology sectors. This role will require you to play an important role JioSaavn’s Legal and Business Affairs department and as such excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to offer legal advice clearly and effectively to a diverse audience is essential. This position reports directly to our HOD- Legal & Business Affairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A key resource when it comes to reviewing and drafting agreements with an understanding of key areas including licensing agreements.
- Will have a working knowledge and proficiency in Data Privacy in this dynamic era of legal developments globally. Will drive compliance and engage in regular Employee Awareness and Trainings and contribute to a legally compliant ecosystem.
- Regular communication with JioSaavn business units to help identify and address legal issues associated with technology, product, content and programming across the JioSaavn platform.
- Advise and provide legal advice on a wide spectrum of contract, technology, advertising, intellectual property, corporate, and privacy related issues.
- Work closely to assess risks associated with evolving content acquisition strategies and the licensing/clearance of related rights.
- Will work closely with relevant stakeholders to guide and advise on content moderation and compliance requirements and stem escalations (including civil and criminal) in alignment with the Information Technology Act, The Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules and other applicable laws.
- Coordinate and represent JioSaavn before administrative, regulatory authorities including police authorities as and when required and assist in follow-up action.
- Support the Legal and Business Affairs team with ongoing work streams including compliance, process improvement & template development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- L.L.B with strong academic performance.
- 7-10 years of transactional legal experience, data privacy and compliance in a reputed law firm or in-house legal department.
- Research oriented with excellent business and legal judgment. Superior ability to assess risk and determine priorities based on that risk assessment and attune it to the needs of the business.
- Familiarity with the global media and entertainment industry with a bent of mind for litigation and dispute resolution will be helpful.
- Proven ability to quickly understand and learn new skills, technical and otherwise.
- Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor communication styles to diverse audiences.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while completing them on time.
