Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 1 year experience in financial and cost accounting and/or audit or related experience
Knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong computer skills, including Adaptive, MS Office suite PeopleSoft, DataServ, and SharePoint
Effective organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities
As an Accountant at The Doe Run Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
You will work closely with the Division Controller to conduct accounting functions, analyze financial data, and prepare reports for management
Conduct month-end closing and/or reconciling of accounts, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Assets, Depletion, Inspection Fees, Sales and Use tax liabilities, and Travel Advance
Process requisition approvals, ensuring proper coding for GAAP, sales/use tax accrual, and company policy
Prepare journal entries to General Ledger for timely and accurate recording of monthly financial results and maintain analysis and reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
Research and instruct others in areas related to Sales and Use Tax
Assist the Division Controller in the budgeting process
Assist quarterly internal reporting and fulfill bank or external audit requests
Other duties as assigned

About the Job

• Conduct month-end closing and/or reconciling of accounts, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Assets, Depletion, Inspection Fees, Sales and Use tax liabilities, and Travel Advance.
• Process requisition approvals, ensuring proper coding for GAAP, sales/use tax accrual, and company policy.
• Prepare journal entries to General Ledger for timely and accurate recording of monthly financial results and maintain analysis and reconciliation of various general ledger accounts.
• Research and instruct others in areas related to Sales and Use Tax.
• Assist the Division Controller in the budgeting process.
• Assist quarterly internal reporting and fulfill bank or external audit requests.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 1 year experience in financial and cost accounting and/or audit or related experience
• Experience with sales and use tax in a manufacturing setting preferred
• Experience analyzing billing and invoicing using a complex billing structure preferred
• Knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong computer skills, including Adaptive, MS Office suite PeopleSoft, DataServ, and SharePoint
