Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Gender Equality & Health Promotion Officer to join the Community Wellbeing team at Knox City Council. Bring your passions for gender equality and health promotion to develop policies, strategies and programs that work towards achieving gender quality and positive health outcomes both across the organisation and the Knox community. This role will also be integral to the development, implementation and review of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and champion gender equity and Equitable Impact Assessments across Council.This is a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) role based at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna South however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.
This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $+5,488.6+ - $104,288.00 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing plan and the requirements under the Health and Wellbeing Act (2008)
A sound understanding or experience of frameworks for the primary prevention of violence against women and gender equity
Current knowledge of the Gender Equity Act 2020 and undertaking of Equity impact Assessments
Knowledge of the social determinants of health and how to apply them to policies, strategies and projects
Demonstrated experience in high level project management skills
Ability to prepare concise, accurate and well communicated project plans and reports
Demonstrated experience in building strong and collaborative internal and external partnerships
