Job Description:
The General Accountant is responsible for assisting the controller in the Fiscal management of the Vancouver properties. This includes timely, accurate and efficient financial and AR reporting ensuring proper systems and controls. This position will cover a year of mat leave and with possibility of extension. Start date expectation will be late July or Early August.

What You Will Do:
Track wire payments and cheques, reconcile and post into PMS on a daily basis.
Efficient and accurate invoicing/billing to clients with follow up procedures
Verify Cash drops & deposits daily and prep for deposits to bank.
Monthly generation of rent roll for independent guests rent payments
Maintain efficient reporting & filing process for invoicing, collection and follow up.
Due Diligence while setting up AR clientele with appropriate credit checks & approvals
Respond to all billing inquires by phone or emails
Assist in Income Audit process to ensure daily operations are captured accurately
Fix posting discrepancies in PMS systems
Perform Cash and credit card reconciliations
Assist controller in performing month end duties to provide accurate and timely reports.
What You Will Bring:
Minimum 1 year experience in an accounting role, Hospitality experience is an asset.
Post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Business or Finance.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major tasks.
Able to sets goals and standards that are decisive and achievement oriented towards solutions that are beneficial to guests, associates and the organization.
Must have a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; establish facts and draw conclusions.
A positive attitude and a can-do approach to essential tasks.
Strong computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel), data-based software, email and web browsers.
