About the Role
We're seeking a skilled General Accountant to join our dynamic team. You'll work directly with clients, preparing comprehensive financial statements while ensuring compliance with Australian taxation requirements. This role offers excellent exposure to diverse clients across various industries and direct client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow)
Complete BAS, IAS, and tax returns with precision
Advise clients on tax-effective business structures
Handle business registrations (ABN, GST, PAYG Withholding, WorkCover)
Manage accounts receivable and payable processes
Assist with ASIC company incorporations and constitutions
Maintain regular client communication and relationships
Provide training to clients in maintaining their accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems.
Management accounting, including examining operating costs, income and expenditure.
Assist clients in maintaining internal control systems
Assist with the review of financial statements and advice on matters such as purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, due diligence, capital financing and taxation.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 1 year of accounting experience
CA or CPA qualification in progress (or ready to commence)
Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and BGL software
Experience with Fringe Benefits Tax compliance
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking capabilities
