Job Description: Senior Manager – General Ledger
Location: Chennai One
Shift: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Experience: 12–15 Years
Salary Package: Up to ₹28–35 LPA (depending on experience & current CTC)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – General Ledger to lead end-to-end GL operations. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely closure of financial cycles. You will also lead a team, improve processes, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead General Ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within deadlines
• Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS / Ind AS and internal policies
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
• Handle financial reporting and support internal & external audits
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with AP, AR, FP&A, and Tax teams
• Ensure SOX compliance and strong internal controls
• Manage stakeholder communication and escalations
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
Eligibility Criteria
• Minimum 15 years of full-time education (10+2+3)
• Graduation in Finance/Accounts (B.Com, M.Com or similar)
• Experience: 12–15 years in General Ledger / Finance roles
Must-Have Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP / Ind AS
• Experience in:
• Journal preparation
• Reconciliation
• Financial reporting
• Month-end close activities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage timelines
Good-to-Have
• Trial Balance knowledge
• P&L review and consolidation experience
Technical Skills
• Month-end close & reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Fixed assets accounting
• Intercompany accounting
• Audit coordination
• Financial statement preparation
• ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Preferred Experience
• Shared services / BPO / Global finance operations
• Multi-country accounting exposure
• Handling large teams (10+ members)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Timely and accurate financial close
• Reduction in reconciliation gaps
• Audit compliance and observations
• Process improvements and efficiency
• Team productivity and retention
