BCG is implementing a new ERP, a BI&A reporting capability and an Enterprise Data Tribe.
As members of the cross-functional Global Data Tribe, the BCG Global Data Stewards are responsible, within their corresponding data domain, for the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide Data strategy that democratizes the usage of data across the firm by setting key sets of fully authenticated, curated and globally integrated data products & assets, available on demand to any authorized BCG team.
Under the guidance of their Global Data Owner, each Global Data Steward articulates and steers the key data initiatives (both functional and technical) in the domain, including the definition and execution of analysis, policies, quality assessments, governance & security frameworks and business processes changes (e.g. workflows) to create and evolve this new set of enterprise-wide products and assets.
The Finance Data Steward will deliver a Finance Data strategy, a key enabler to BCG’s SAP ERP implementation, innovative Planning and BI&A reporting workstreams which are part of its Future Finance program. Your initial priority will be to ensure that the Enterprise Structure ERP process is properly defined, configured, tested and implemented. You will then define and deliver the global data strategy, roadmap and change management plan to ensure outcome based, end to end data capture, governance and intelligent insight. You will partner with the ERP Functional Process Lead, the Global Finance Data Owner, the FP&A Global Executive Director and the Global Finance & Corporate Controller Executive Director, as well as their corresponding Business Intelligence & Analytics, Operations and Tech teams to realize the most relevant opportunities to accomplish our ambitious goals for the Finance domain.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
Managing to program deadlines, ensuring the buy in of diverse stakeholders and understanding different platforms and technologies the domain will be deployed across, starting with SAP S4 Hana Public Cloud for Professional Services, Snowflake, Tableau, BO
Collaborating with functional and technical team members (e.g. SMEs in Finance) to prioritize and pursue the business and technical initiatives in the ERP program and data roadmap to achieve a global data strategy
Enabling BCG leaders to make relevant decisions (e.g. trade-offs and prioritization) to implement the global strategy defined for Financer
Identifying the main gaps and opportunities to pursue within the Finance domain by harmonizing definitions and data flows across functions and geographies. For example, defining which attributes should be mastered and globally harmonized (via MDM and Data Warehousing solutions), and solving misalignments on key attributes with partially different definitions across the board
Articulating the vision of specific business value benefits to be unlocked by an enterprise-wide data strategy, and setting and implementing the corresponding enterprise-wide roadmap across multi-functional, diverse teams to materialize them
Defining and implementing global data governance requirements that ensure sustainable standardization for the Supplier concepts and attributes
Developing analytics, frameworks and KPIs to drive data quality measurement & improvement, data security, data profiling and data governance maturity
Participating in decision-making and policy-setting activities related to the Finance data strategy, including: metadata management, Master Data mgmt. implementation, data architecture and data product development priorities
Sharing and adopting best practices, external and internal (across the SAP ERP program and BCG Data Stewardship team) in data governance, data management, project management and change management
Ensuring adherence to relevant data policies, standards, and guidelines, and maintaining the data glossary, classification, and data quality standards of data elements across the data domain
Communicating with senior executive teams the importance of the data strategy for the success of BCG
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, computer/data science, accounting or related fields
Chartered Accountant
5-7 years of experience working in data-related roles (e.g. Data Management, CDO Office or BI & Analytics team). Prior experience working with Finance data preferred
Passion and interest in solving business-oriented data challenges end-to-end, with demonstrated precision and attention-to-detail
Understanding of data strategy and management concepts and associated business processes and tools, including Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, and Data Quality
Strong customer and business focus with demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships and resolve conflicts
Previous experience with Finance applications like SAP/Oracle ERP, Snowflake, HFM, Anaplan
Hands-on experience using Master Data Management and Data Governance tools (e.g. Talend Data Catalog, Informatica)
