Job Description

The Global Head of Payroll and HR Operations leads State Street’s global payroll, which is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of pay to all State Street employees, and HR operations globally. HR Operations includes time and attendance administration, supporting employee service center operations, global employee onboarding operations, and a centralized operational and administrative support function to Global Human Resources (GHR). We operate in 28 countries around the world and are about 40,000 people strong with a presence in key financial hubs across EMEA, APAC and the Americas. The Global Head of Payroll and HR Operations will collaborate closely with various GHR stakeholders to understand business needs and strategic priorities in order to ensure that HR operational capabilities are leveraged across the function, and will ensure proper and adequate controls and processes are in place, drive efficiencies, process improvement, and manage operational risk.

This role manages across multiple geographies and teams requiring the ability to interact and manage a variety of global and local leadership/stakeholders. The role sets strategy and oversees and coordinates all aspects of payroll globally including process design and execution, regular review of vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations, and instituting and managing governance and controls. The role is also responsible for providing operational support for HR lifecycle processes including total rewards, performance management, time and attendance, learning, employee onboarding, and employee services which includes collaborating with internal and external parties (e.g., HR Technology, external service providers) to ensure products and services are available and being offered at the highest level of service and value.

The role is based in Bangalore, India, and manages a global organization with teams located in North America, EMEA and APAC. Relocation to Bangalore will be considered and global travel should be expected. The role has a dual reporting line to the SVP-Global Head of HR Technology, Operations and Workforce Planning (functional) and the SVP-India Country Head (dual).

Job Requirements
• A proven track record of management experience in cross-disciplinary functions, ideally business operations, call center management, human resources and workforce administration, technology, and payroll processing.
• Experience and expertise in global payroll management including regulatory requirements, payroll operations and vendor management
• Participate in technical project initiatives to assist with improving HR and HR-aligned technology and business processes that will enhance the HR service delivery model.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong strategic focus, translating business objectives into center of Excellence goals, objectives, and KPIs.
• Ability to conceptualize, design and implement improvements in customer satisfaction and the customer experience.
• Ability to lead and maintain a competent, motivated and qualified cross-functional staff.
• Ability to demonstrate project and process management skills.
• Effective communication with all organizational levels in a dynamic, fast paced, high pressure work environment.
• Ability to demonstrate effective problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of supported business processes in all areas of HR/workforce administration/benefits, finance/payroll and call center management.
• Ability to develop people, financial and technology resource requirements necessary to support goals and objectives, and translate into credible budgets and forecasts.
