Location: This position is located in Wycheproof, so candidates should either already live in the area or be open to relocating. Additionally, there are options for working from home and within the office.

Your contribution - Building a Better Buloke: As Governance Officer, you will be at the forefront of our governance practices, ensuring that all legislative and compliance requirements are met. You will handle information requests, provide advice on privacy issues, and support the implementation of our risk management strategies. Your work will help us uphold high standards of governance and risk management, directly impacting the effectiveness and integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: ​

Manage and monitor organisational compliance to the Local Government Performance Reporting Framework and Council’s legislative framework
Administer processes for Freedom of Information requests ensuring compliance with legislation
Provide advice on Privacy and Data Protection Act ​
Assist in implementing Council's Privacy and data protection plan​
Develop and implement Council’s Risk Management Strategy​
Coordinate Council and Audit and Risk Committee Agendas
Assist in delivering Council’s Insurance program​
Prepare and coordinate reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

Formal qualification and/or experience in Governance or Risk management
Experience in supporting staff​
Local Government experience preferred
Current Victorian Drivers Licence and Police Check
